How do I help families build a daily speech practice habit?
Short, intense daily practice beats longer sessions a few times a week. Aim for 5 to 10 minutes a day, ideally split into shorter sessions. Set a same time, same place routine with a table, two chairs, pencil, paper and a timer, plus a trigger and reminders.

How long should daily home practice be?
Five to 10 minutes a day. Shorter sessions and more of them is the pattern I recommend: two five-minute sessions are better than one ten-minute session.
What does a good practice setup look like?
Same time, same place: a table with two chairs, a pencil and paper, and a timer. A short ritual before drills, such as a glass of water or a warm-up song, acts as a trigger that builds the habit. Reminders go everywhere the family will see them.
How do I get past "we don't have time"?
There are 1,440 minutes in a day. Five minutes of drills leaves 1,435. Then widen the circle: grandparents, siblings, teachers, educational assistants and daycare staff can all run drills. That is the speech team.
